Much of Laurel's work focuses around concert and recital events in intimate settings. In 2017, in coordination with pianist Daniel Lockert, Laurel performed in the inaugural recital series curated by the newly-formed Sausalito Song Society. These performances focused on the art song repertoire. This well-received performance featured works by Lee Hoiby, Ned Rorem, and Samuel Barber; Hector Berlioz; Richard Strauss; Joaquin Turina, Fernando Obradors, and Carlos Guastavino. Proceeds were donated to the Hurricane relief fund for Puerto Rico.

Before Covid-19 shutdowns, Laurel was seen at the San Francisco Public Library in their presentation of Poetry in Song, a recital featuring multiple performers and an eclectic array of art song by many well-known poets.
